The attacks on PSN cost Sony lost.....

Guess how much money Sony lost in the PSN attack incident during April-May 2011? Sony has pegged the total cost to be around USD$170 million. Want to see in a real number? It is $170,000,000!

"Based on information currently available to Sony, our currently known costs associated with the unauthorized network access are estimated to be approximately 14 billion yen in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012," Sony said today in an official earnings forecast statement.

As it stands at time of posting, that's exactly USD$171,203,043. There's no detailed breakdown of just how those costs are spread out - how much is down to estimates on the loss of business, direct costs of fixing stuff, etc - but hey, it all contributes to the same bottom line. And that's one painful bottom line.

Note that that while official, these are still estimates; a final figure on the total cost probably won't be known for some time.

So, your custom character can dual with Edward Elric or his younger, but taller brother Alphonse. The battle system appears to be a mix of card games and traditional RPGs since you use items, but still develop character skills.

Chaos Rings Omega is now available

Chaos Rings Omega was revealed in last month and now had released! You can now find it on iPhone App Store.

Chaos Rings Omega is the latest installment in the globally successful Chaos Rings RPG series. Players can enjoy gorgeous 3D graphics, smooth animations, classic RPG game play, a refined user interface and a rich story linked with the previously released Chaos Rings on their iPhone, iPod touch.

The story is based on the Arc Arena life-or-death tournament. This fight to the death takes places on Earth, 10,000 years before the events of the previous game. As the youthful and daring Veig, the player experiences first-hand battles connected to the previous game, the tragedies that arose because of them and a wondrous story that spans 10,000 years.

Personally, I have to say Square-Enix products have good quality, however this one is costing $11.99... might be little over than it should.

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D slots Barry Burton!?

Barry Burton is joining the playable characters of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. People like it, but not me. If he is the last playable character that announced in for this game, it's really disappointed. I was hoping to see Leon, or Ada Wong in the game, at least they are the main character in several episodes, or why not created a Milla Jovovich like a-like character if you (Capcom) wanted to bring something new for players?

Sony failed! Continue? Please insert coin (month)

From the PSN Update:

"Regarding the aim of the full restoration of PSN services by the 31st May : -

Restoration of Online Gamplay is the FIRST phase of the plan to restore the PSN.
"

PSN is back on May 3... May 6... and now May 31? End of May, over a month since PSN is down! Or did Sony mean May 31 of 2012? Sony, you are losing customers, loyal fans, and even developers. If I were game developer I'm going to change the plan on PlayStation now, such case could cause tons of losses indirectly! I feel like Sony is not take responsibility on the promise they made, fail to handle their own service well, that's really disappointed!

SONY vs. Unknown Anonymous war continue!?

This week (May 8, 2011) lot of articles regarding the Sony PSN or related news floating around the net saying the PSN restoration delayed, Sony security outdated and more... But one of them was found from CNET news is about the hacker's next attack on Sony. According to CNET, A group of hackers says it is planning another wave of cyberattacks against Sony in retaliation for its handling of the PlayStation Network breach. It seems that anonymous hackers is not letting Sony peace at this moment.

The people involved plan to publicize all or some of the information they are able to copy from Sony's servers, which could include customer names, credit card numbers, and addresses, according to the source. The hackers claim they currently have access to some of Sony's servers.

Should the planned attack succeed, it would be the latest blow in a series of devastating security breaches of Sony's servers over the past month. The failure of Sony's server security has ignited investigations by the FBI, the Department of Justice, Congress, and the New York State Attorney General, a well as data security and privacy authorities in the U.K., Canada, and Taiwan.

Sony says it doesn't know who orchestrated what it's calling a "highly sophisticated, planned" attack, but it has dropped hints that the group Anonymous is involved. Kazuo Hirai, chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment, told a Congressional subcommittee in a letter yesterday that the intruders on its servers planted a file named "Anonymous" containing the statement "We are Legion," part of the group's tagline.

Anonymous issued a statement yesterday denying it was involved in the PSN breach. "While we are a distributed and decentralized group, our 'leadership' does not condone credit card theft," the statement said.

Now looks like the same group of hackers that was able to break in the PSN servers is planning to hit back against Sony. They are not the official "Anonymous" group, but still naming "Anonymous", that's what we can call them now.

Good luck Sony.

Super Mario 3D will use Gyro Sensor but no StreetPass

According to British newspaper, The Telegraph, we now also know that it will use the 3DS’ gyro-sensors in some manner and that there are currently no plans for the title to include StreetPass functionality. These details come straight from the horse’s mouth — that of Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto.

"Sometimes people ask why the 3DS isn’t double stick," Miyamoto said to reporters in the U.K., during a recent interview, providing some insight into the 3DS' hardware design. "One is normally used to control the camera, but having the gyro sensor you can replace the analogue stick by moving the console, which is very intuitive." He confirmed that Super Mario 3D will make use of the gyro sensor, but didn’t outright reveal how.

Miyamoto also stated that, "unless a spectacular idea comes to mind," Super Mario 3D won't use the 3DS' StreetPass features.

Introducing - Shadow of the Damned

Shadows of the Damned (PS3/X360) - Developer Diary

From the creative genius of Suda 51 (No More Heroes) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil) comes an all-new psychologically twisted vision of hell unlike anything seen before. Shadows of the Damned combines visceral action with dark, grotesque horror to create a mind-shattering adventure that has to been seen to be believed.

Play style is like Resident Evil 4, you will need to expose enemy's weakness with lighting instead of just shooting their head or core. The monsters and weapons as showing in the video above design are cool and creative. Overall seems good.

Here's another earlier trailer of the game:
